Classical Five Element is a system of acupuncture developed in the UK in the 50’s by Professor J.R. Worsley. It is based on the ancient Five Element theory of universal connection that is deeply woven into the fabric of Chinese culture, and can also be viewed as representation of the dynamic balance of opposites and the processes of change. Professor J.R. Worsley (1923 – 2003) is credited with bringing Five-Element Acupuncture to the West. One of his student Nora Franglen (Founder/Principal of the School of Five Element Acupuncture in London from 1995-2007) finally brought Five Element Acupuncture back to China in 2012. Dr. Franglen is credited with bringing Five-Element Acupuncture to China.
The five different elements are Fire, Earth, Metal, Water and Wood. We are made up of all the Five Elements which have to work together creating the system of Body, Mind and Spirit functions to Flow, Control and Feed. However, we all have a dominant Element known as the Guardian Element, The role of Guardian Element is to protect but it also enables all of the Five Elements to work together with the result that our Body, Mind and Spirit flourish.
Five Element Acupuncture identifies a patient’s primary elemental imbalance, also called causative factor (CF), via odor, color, sound, and emotion. Once we have cleared any and all of the energetic blocks to treatment efficacy, in this system of medicine, we turn our attention to supporting, balancing, and harmonizing the CF, as it is the source of the symptoms that invariably spread throughout the entire system and manifest at the levels of body, mind, and spirit.
TREATABLE CONDITIONS
