What is a “course” of treatment?

 

This particular treatment is unique in that for best results, you will have two treatments per week for five consecutive weeks (total of 10 sessions). The effects become most noticeable and lasting on or about the seventh session, although effects are noticeable from the beginning.

 

Every person is different, so results will vary. Much depends on his or her condition and lifestyle prior to treatment. Following the initial course of treatment, maintenance sessions can prolong the results for five to ten years.

 

During our treatments, not only is Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture used to relax and release the targeted muscle in the face, but general acupuncture is also used on the body to distress and re-balance the body. We will do a thorough assessment of your general health and provide acupuncture for the whole body to make sure that you leave as relaxed as possible. It is often recommended to supplement the Facial Rejuvenation program with Chinese Herbal Medicine, nutritional supplements, facial self-massage and/or acupressure, facial exercises, and a healthy diet.

 

 

Does it hurt?

 

The needles that are used for Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture are of the finest grade available and thinner than those usually used in general practice acupuncture. There is very little sensation when needled with them and only a mild stinging sensation may be experienced on some occasions. Most patients find the whole experience of a treatment to be a very relaxing experience.

 

What to prepare?

 

There isn’t much you need to do to prepare for your treatment. If you wear make up, we will help you remove it with a gentle make up remover during the treatment. If you would like to use your own products, please feel free to bring your own in.  You are free to put on skincare and reapply make-up before you leave.
